Sourced from the esteemed Gitesi Washing Station in Rwanda’s Western Province, this coffee is the result of meticulous care from over 1,800 smallholder farmers. Owned by Alexis and Aime Gahizi, Gitesi has been a leader in sustainable coffee processing since 2005. Each hand-picked cherry is carefully sorted, fermented, and dried on African beds for up to 15 days, ensuring superior quality and a complex flavor profile.


This lot is processed as natural and we picked for espresso for it's dried fruit flavors and sugarcane sweetness and nice clean camomille tea finish. 


Gitesi’s eco-friendly processing includes a Penagos 800 Eco Pulper and an advanced wastewater management system, setting a benchmark in Rwanda’s coffee industry. The station supports farmers through free seedlings, organic fertilizers, and competitive pricing, while also offering health insurance and financial training programs to the local community. Beyond great coffee, Gitesi fosters long-term farmer relationships with a performance-based bonus system, annual equipment distributions, and initiatives like cow donations to diversify income. With every sip, you support a thriving coffee community and sustainable agriculture in Rwanda.
