Rafael Borges e Silva is the producer behind the coffees from Sítio Grota Bonita, located near the city of Espírito Santo do Dourado, Sul de Minas.

With a farm spanning 35 hectares, 33 of which are dedicated to coffee cultivation, Rafael oversees an annual production of 600 bags of coffee. Situated at an altitude ranging from 800 to 1050 metres above sea level, the farm benefits from the favourable climatic conditions of the Sul de Minas region, contributing to the unique characteristics of the coffee produced under Rafael's care.

On Sítio Grota Bonita, flowering occurs between September and December, while the harvest takes place from May until August.

Rafael started coffee growing alongside his father, João Divanil, who initiated the family's first crop back in the 80s. Since then, coffee has become the primary source of income for the family. Over the years, they strategically invested in expanding their crops and enhancing the property's infrastructure, aiming for increased productivity and improved bean quality.

In 2019, their dedicated efforts became more than evident, as they secured 2nd place in the region's quality contest. The following year, in 2020, their commitment to excellence was further recognized when they clinched the 10th place. These accomplishments underscored the potential of their coffees in the specialty market.

Responding to the evolving landscape of specialty coffees, they identified the necessity to enhance their knowledge and management practices, with a specific focus on integrating sustainability into their operations.
